vdB142, the Elephant's Trunk Nebula in super large IC1396 emission nebula. One of my favorite parts of the sky (the other two would be Antares area and nebulas in Corona Australis. I imaged wide-fields of IC1396 several times in the past, but this is a part of IC1396 around Elephant's Trunk in HI-RES at 0,83"/px.
This is a crop but at 100% resolution. Full FOV as revision at 50%.
As I collected lots of subs, the processing was actually easier than for galaxies... Also, using deconvolution I was able to reduce the stars in a pretty neat way. This image also finally convinced my to keep this scope - well Orion Optics UK 1/10PV optics - and I plan to put in SW Quattro 150 tube and use it as a "mid-field" scope at f/3.45.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
